100 year-oldFelismina Rotundo already has 100 year-old, but the age does not stop her from working.
By day is 11 hours, six days a week, in a laundry in Buffalo, USA.

Working since age 15, when she went to a shoe factory in Annville, Pennsylvania. “It was slave labor. I earned ten US dollars (eight euros) a week but worked my 40 hours and never complained about it,” she says.

To the newspaper Today, Felimina says that even during the years of the Great Depression she didn’t stopped working. “What was there to do? Survive. That’s what made me grow and earn some money. I became independent and I can say that I could overcome very difficult times,” she says.

Felismina doesn’t watch television, except for the news, reads the newspaper every day and rests on Sunday next to her dog.

To Felimina, 100 year-old, the elderly living in nursing homes get sick because they have nothing to keep their mind active.

“They put the old aside and forget about them. But I do not. I want to continue working. And all seniors should do so as far as possible. If they worked and were independent, they would feel so different,” she explains.
